In August 2018, I joined TYP creating social media as well as blog posts. Working across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, I analyzed our strategies and audience engagement.
Following the internship, I began working with TYP as a paid contractor to continue in social media support and content creation, as well as join their community engagement team. I've taken on roles in organizing events and assisting in recording and photographing to capture more original content.
Working with the different program directors, I've lead campaigns supporting the nonprofit’s programs through monthly campaigns, like crowdsourcing $10,000 in March for “Criminal Justice Month” fully funding a 200-hour yoga class for men in prison taught by TYP instructors, as well as the second annual Yoga Day at the Union event with the Philadelphia Union, that brought together the Greater Philadelphia community at Talen Energy Stadium and raised money for TYP programs.
Other TYP campaigns I worked on include:
Since launching its new website at the end of last year, I've also been responsible for making page updates and blog post writing as needed.
During campaigns and monthly updates, TYP uses its newsletters to share upcoming events, features in the news, as well as any program updates with its followers. I've used MailChimp to create these newsletters to its full audience as well as segments for targeted campaigns.
While TYP's mission has remained the same, we've evolved our services, values, and vision, and 2019 was full of inspiring moments celebrating connection and collaboration.
Read BlogTYP's Recovery and Behavioral Health Services offer our trauma-sensitive, mindfulness-based yoga within treatment centers to provide a supportive and welcoming space for people in recovery to explore connection in two ways.
Cell phones may not be the first tool to think of when trying to disconnect and destress, but mobile apps can provide helpful mindfulness strategies and services.
Read BlogIn order to share more of TYP's virtual community videos, like Facebook Live trauma-sensitive yoga classes and Zoom guided meditations, I reorganized the YouTube page to feature playlists of these videos so the community could access these tools even after each session.
These videos were in response to all of TYP's programs being paused and the stressful times during the coronavirus pandemic when community gatherings moved online.
